How to Display Ratings in Google Shopping Ads: A Step-by-Step Guide

However, ensuring that your ratings are displayed correctly is crucial. In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps to make sure your ratings shine on Google Shopping.

Requirements for Displaying Product Ratings

  • A minimum of 50 ratings across all products.
  • At least 3 ratings per individual product.
  • Ratings must be authentic and up-to-date. Data should be refreshed at least monthly but ideally updated as “real-time data” every 24 hours.

How to Verify Your Ratings on Google Shopping

Choose a product that ideally has a minimum of 15 ratings on its product page. Then check if it displays a star rating in Google Shopping search results.

What If Your Ratings Aren’t Showing?

If your star rating is missing from Google Shopping, you can either follow the “Simple Method” or the “Advanced Method.”

The Simple Method

  1. Eligibility Check: Confirm that you’re eligible to display ratings in Google Merchant Center. If not, activate this feature there.
  2. Review Lipscore Feed: Is your Lipscore feed empty? Make sure the GTIN and transaction data are sent to Lipscore, and that the Lipscore-rating widget is implemented on your product pages.

  4. Approval Period: Google typically takes about two weeks to approve and display the ratings on Google Shopping.
