Migrating Reviews to a New E‑commerce Platform
As your business evolves, you may decide to transition from one e‑commerce platform to another. To ensure your reviews visible on your website after the transition, a few steps are required.
Implementing Lipscore on the new website
To continue displaying and collecting reviews on your new site, Lipscore must be integrated again, both on the backend (order data transfer) and frontend (widgets). We recommend reviewing our Integrations page for guidance on how Lipscore can be implemented on your new platform.
Depending on the platform, you can reach out to our Support to order integration from Lipscore or discuss with your in-house developers / agency or platform developers.
Reviews are attached to Product IDs
Reviews in Lipscore are linked to product identifiers used in your integration:

With this in mind, below are the available approaches to ensure your reviews appear correctly on the new website.
1. Use the same IDs and API keys in the new integration
The simplest solution is to maintain the same Lipscore account (including API keys) and use identical product IDs in the new integration. If this is possible, your reviews, questions, and replies will automatically transfer without any additional actions.
However, this option is rarely feasible, as product IDs typically differ between platforms.
2. When you cannot use the same IDs: File with old IDs and new IDs
If the new platform requires different product IDs, Lipscore will need an Excel file mapping old IDs to new ones. The required structure depends on whether product names and URLs are also changing:
If only product IDs change:
- Old Product ID
- New Product ID
If product names or URLs change:
- Old Product ID
- New Product ID
- New Product Name
- New Product URL
Our developers will update our database accordingly. This service is billed at 1550 NOK (or equivalent) per hour, with a typical time estimate of 3–6 hours, depending on the number of products and fields that should be updated. Please note that we require a minimum of three weeks advance notice to schedule this work.

3. When you do not have access to the old IDs
If you no longer have the old IDs, names, or URLs, Lipscore can export a file with previously used data from our database. You will then add the corresponding new IDs, names, and URLs before returning the file to us for processing.
Please note: Lipscore only stores data for products that were purchased or viewed after the integration was activated. Products without recorded activity will not appear in the exported file.
Exporting the file adds one additional hour (1550 NOK) to the data mapping cost.
After product data is updated and integration are finalized, reviews will appear in the widgets on your new website.
