Importing reviews from previous provider
Some customers start their adventure with customer ratings and reviews with Lipscore. Others have been on a journey with a different provider and decided to switch to Lipscore – but do not want to lose their previously collected reviews.
It is possible to import your past reviews to Lipscore. Please follow the instructions below when creating the import file.
Note 1: In the vast majority of the cases, other platforms for shoppers’ feedback grant the ownership of reviews to the webshop, which means that the webshop owner can freely export the reviews and import them into other platforms. However, if you are in doubt regarding the ownership, contact your previous provider to get a written confirmation that you can use the reviews elsewhere.
Note 2: You will be requested to digitally sign a document that confirms that the reviews in the file are not filtered or in any way manipulated, and that they are written by actual buyers.
Past reviews import template
In order to import the file into the Lipscore system, we need a very specific structure of the file and it is our customer’s responsibility to provide an importable file. Usually it is not possible to export the file in the desired structure from your previous provider’s system which means you will need to rework the file so that it contains only the relevant data, as per instructions.
Here is the template for the correct import file. Of course, in the importable file, the row with instructions should be removed.

File correctness checklist
- Crucial: Make sure the Product IDs used in the file are the same as will be used in the Lipscore integration
- Make sure that only the reviews that you have the right to publish are in the file (e.g., if some reviews were collected for internal use only without customer’s consent for publishing, it should not be included in the file)
- Make sure that names used in CustomerName column are the names your shoppers consented to be published
- Make sure column headings match the headings in the template (e.g., CustomerName, not billing_name)
- Check if all special characters are correctly displayed
- Make sure there are no empty cells in the required columns
- Check if all data is correct and in the required format (eg. date)
- If your file is saved as CSV, check if the file coding is UTF-8 or UTF-8-BOM
- Make sure you included all reviews, both positive and negative
If all the requirements above are met, save the file as CSV or Excel and send it to our Support with a request for import.
