Analytics – Product insights

If you have not gotten familiar with basic information about Analytics, relevant to all dashboards, please visit THIS ARTICLE before proceeding to the details of the Product insights dashboard.

In this article we will focus on the Product insights dashboard – on how to navigate it and how to understand the presented parameters.

Product Rating Distribution presents the proportion of your positve and negative ratings (blue), with a benchmark of the distribution across all Lipscore customers (green). Hovering over each result will show you how many ratings the result is based on and the exact percentage of this score (e.g., 73,9% of all your ratings are 5-star scores. You rececived 3134 5-star ratings in the selected period).

The Product Response Rate is the number of ratings received in the period divided by the number of invitations sent in this period. What’s worth mentioning is that if you are using the invitations template that includes the 1st invitation and the reminder invitation, it is still counted as one invitation.

Product Average Rating, as the name suggests, is the average score for all your products, with the average score of all products sold by Lipscore customers as a benchmark.

Top 100 and Bottom 100, Most rated and Most reviewed products results are based on products that had at least 1 view within the last 60 days and collected at least 5 ratings all-time.

Product attributes results provide a more detailed insight into how specific products that belong to a selected category perform when measured on specific parameters, which we call “attributes”. The top row allows for selection of the Category and Attribute you want to analyze, as well as the minumim number of votes that the average score is based on: e.g., I want to see how products that belong to the Low shoes category assessed when it comes to whether the size fits popular sizing systems shoppers are used to, and their average score is based on at least 3 votes.

You can filter the list by Product Name, Average Score and number of Votes by clicking on the headings.

Based on your choices, a list is composed, showing you bars with score indication, as well as average score (Avg Score). Important note: The 1,0 – worst, 5,0 best rule does not apply to Avg score. The actual value (positive/negative) of the score depends on how attributes are ordered. E.g., as in the example below: The attribute we are analyzing is “True to size”. In such case, Small is bad, Big is bad, and we are aiming at Perfect. This means that Avg score around 1,0 (Small) will be negative, and Avg score around 5,0 (Big) will be negative too, so the most positive scores will revolve around 3,0 (Perfect). If attributes were ordered: Small, Big, Perfect, then the best results would be close to 5,0 and everything below 4 would be poor. Please bear it in mind when making conclusions based on Avg Score.

In the reviewing process, the shopper must always give a rating first, to see the attributes slider bars expand on the review popup. Product Attributes Response Rate means: how many of the given ratings were also followed by an attribute score. So: if 90 shoppers left a rating on this product, and then 55 of them proceeded with leaving a an attribute score, the Response rate is 61,11%. You will see these details by hovering over each attribute’s result.

Lipscore receives information about products via purchases and page views. If your product has been viewed at least once within the last 60 days, we assume it is “active” and include it in the statistics. Ratings and Reviews Coverage tells you how many of your products we see as active (e.g., 6723 in the example below), and what percent of these products has at least one rating or at least one review.

Last but not least, Product page views chart shows you page views trend over time. From the dropdown list you can choose time intervals for the displayed results.
