Introduction 

This guide will explain to you how to implement Lipscore on your Woocommerce website. Your day to day interaction with Lipscore will be through your own Lipscore account. You can log into your account here: https://members.lipscore.com 

This is what you need

Some requirements to use Lipscore’s Woocommerce app: 

• Lipscore plugin: Lipscore plugin for Woocommerce 
• Valid user account with us and log in at https://members.lipscore.com 

Download the Lipscore plugin 

Go to https://github.com/lipscore/woocommerce-plugin and click on the green Code button (1) and then click on Download ZIP button from the menu that opens (2). 

Your browser will automatically download the latest version of the plugin. 

We highly recommend that you rename the downloaded archive to, e.g., lipscore.zip because WordPress will name the plugin’s folder the same way you named the archive. 

Installing the LipScore plugin 

1. Go to your WooCommerce website’s admin dashboard. In the sidebar admin menu hover the mouse over the Plugins and click on Add New in the menu that opens.  

2. After that, you’ll see the WordPress plugin directory. At the moment, the LipScore plugin for WooCommerce is not available in the official WordPress plugins directory so you will need to install it manually.

3. At the top of the current page you should see the Upload plugin button (1) 

Click it and you’ll see the file upload form. Click on Choose File button and select the plugin’s ZIP archive you downloaded earlier or drag and drop the archive straight to the button. Confirm by clicking the Install Now button. The installation process will begin. 

4. After the successful installation, you’ll see the following message in your language: 

Click on Activate Plugin button which will redirect you to the plugins list page. 

App configuration 

1. Find Lipscore plugin on the plugins list page. 

2. Click on the Settings link. You will be redirected to the plugin’s settings page. You can also access this page from the admin left sidebar if you go to WooCommerce > Settings and choose the Lipscore sidebar on the opened page. 

3. On the settings page, you need to provide your public and private LipScore API keys. The API key and the Secret key are what identifies you in the Lipscore network. The Lipscore app comes preconfigured with a demo API key which needs to be changed. In your Lipscore account go to Settings > General > API settings.  

Use these keys to fill in these settings fields: 

4. Interface Locale is responsible for the language locale Lipscore will use to render widgets and it will determine the language of invitations sent out to your shoppers:

5. Setting up the GTIN attribute is required if you want to show stars in Google organic results and Google shopping ads. If you don’t use GTINs feel free to skip this setting. 

Note: WooCommerce does not come with GTINs for products by default. However, there are plugins for WooCommerce that add this feature by creating a custom meta field for products that is later used to store GTIN data.  

Since there are many plugins that call this meta field their own unique way, in the GTIN attribute select box you can find a list of all meta fields our plugin found on your website.  

Choose the meta field you use for GTINs and proceed to the next setting. 

6. By default, our plugin sends an invitation for every order that receives the Completed status. However, you can change the default status for new invitations using this setting: \

7. The Coupons settings used to provide shoppers with coupons for their reviews, however, Lipscore no longer supports this function. Please skip this setting. ]

8. The last three settings are responsible for toggling the visibility of LipScore widgets: 

For example, if you don’t want to show the reviews widget on your website, you can toggle off the corresponding checkbox. This can also be done directly in the Lipscore account in Settings – General – System settings – Stealth mode (recommended).  

9. When you’re all set, click the Save changes button. 

Widgets 

You can now proceed to adding widgets according to your / customer’s preferences. 

The LipScore plugin for WooCommerce adds Rating widget, Review list and Q&A widgets automatically to many of the WooCommerce themes. 

However, there are tons of different WooCommerce themes that were created in their own unique way and sometimes you will need to add widgets manually, 

The easiest way to do that is to use the shortcodes coming with our plugin. 

Here’s a list of all in-built shortcodes you can use in your theme’s code or using a visual builder (like Elementor or WPBakery) if it allows you to add shortcodes as separate elements:

In the nutshell, LipScore widgets are just HTML code snippets that our scripts later use to fully render them.  

Technically, you can add our widgets through some custom code if you know how to work with PHP and WordPress, but we do not recommend going this way.

Testing the integration 

Test the integration following these instructions. If everything works as expected, send a confirmation email to the customer and Onboarding manager that the integration is completed.
