Introduction 

This guide will explain to you how to implement Lipscore on your Shopify website. Your day to day interaction with Lipscore will be through your own Lipscore account. You can log into your account here: https://members.lipscore.com 

Prerequisites 

Some requirements to use Lipscore’s Shopify app: 

• You need to have a valid user account with us and log in at https://members.lipscore.com 
• You need to have installed our Shopify app from Shopify app store: https://apps.shopify.com/lipscore-real-reviews  
• Choose and confirm your preferred payment plan based on the invitations package that meets the needs of your business

Step 1. Activate the backend connection

Complete the following steps to activate the transfer of order data between Shopify and Lipscore so that invitations can be created in the Lipscore account.

1. Install Lipscore App
   1. Click Apps
   2. Search Lipscore
   3. Open app or install from Shopify app store
2. Setup app
   1. Open Lipscore app
   2. Click Settings
   3. The API key and the Secret key are what identifies you in the Lipscore network and the Lipscore app comes preconfigured with a demo API key. Log in to your Lipscore account on https://members.lipscore.com and go to Settings > General > API settings -> Copy and paste api key and Secret API key in this step.  
   4. Select preferences
      • Interface locale: This is where you choose the language of the Lipscore widgets that is visible to the end customers.
      • Product ID: This is the identifier of the product. If you have products that also have variants, choose the parent product ID (recommended: Product.id), NOT the variant of the product (e.g., SKU).  In this way, reviews will be shared across all product variants.
      • Order status: When your order reaches the status selected in this step, order data will be sent to Lipscore and an invitation will be automatically created. It will be sent out after a number of days which you will configure in your Lipscore account settings. 
   5. Click Activate
   6. Save changes

The backend is connected at this point.

Testing the backend connection

Complete a test order and set the order to the status you selected in the app configuration. Go to your Lipscore account -> Invitations and see if an invitation was scheduled for your test order. If the invitation is created in the Invitations section, your backend is correctly connected.

Step 2. Activate the frontend (widgets)

1. Choose widgets that you want activated
   1. Open Lipscore app
   2. Click Settings
   3. Select widgets
   4. Save changes
2. Enable Lipscore embed (Lipscore initializer script)
   1. Click Sales channels -> Online store
   2. Click Customize for the active theme
   3. Click App embeds in the left toolbar
   4. Activate Lipscore Init
   5. Save changes
3. Place widgets
   1. Go to the selected pages in the active theme customization screen (e.g., products -> default product)
   2. Click sections in the left toolbar
   3. Locate the section where a widget should be added to
   4. Click Add block or Add section
   5. Search for Lipscore
   6. Select the correct widget under APPS (Rating widget – should usually be placed under the product name, Reviews list – in a Reviews tab or at the page bottom)
   7. Save changes

Testing the frontend

1. Go back to your Lipscore account -> Invitations -> click “Send now” on your test invitation.
2. Go to your inbox and complete the reviewing process.
3. Go to the product page of the product you have just rated and reviewed and see if the stars and review are displayed in the implemented widgets.

If the review process worked smoothly and your feedback is displayed in the widgets, your frontend integration is correctly set up.

Step 3. Complete the configuration of your Lipscore account
