Klaviyo – Build Customer Segments Based on Review Activity
Klaviyo’s Segment Builder makes it easy to create dynamic customer segments based on Lipscore review activity. By using the Lipscore Rating event together with review-related properties, you can automatically group customers who have recently submitted a review.
This setup is useful for creating targeted email flows, loyalty campaigns or post-review automations.
Create a Segment for Customers Who Left a Review
In the Segment Builder, create a condition based on the Lipscore Rating event.
Configure the segment so that:
- A person has performed the Lipscore Rating event
- At least once
- Within a selected time period (for example, the last 7 days)
- And the property has_review is set to true
This segment will automatically include customers who submitted a review during the selected timeframe.

Filter Reviews by Additional Conditions
You can further refine the segment by adding additional conditions such as Brand or Category.
For example, add:
- product.brand equals Your brand name
This allows you to create brand-specific customer segments, which is especially useful for stores managing multiple brands or product lines within the same Klaviyo account.

Adding filters such as Brand or Category gives you more precise targeting opportunities, such as:
- Sending follow-up campaigns tailored to the exact products customers reviewed
- Promoting related or complementary products within the same category
- Building loyalty campaigns for specific brands
- Identifying highly engaged customers for individual product lines
- Creating personalized post-purchase experiences based on customer interests
For businesses with multiple brands or broad product catalogs, these filters help ensure that your customers receive more personalized and relevant communication based on the products they interacted with.
