Henning Frettem, the founder of LipScore, was inspired to start his company after experiencing a lack of customer reviews on Elkjøp, a major Norwegian electronics retailer’s online store. LipScore is a user-friendly platform that allows customers to leave ratings and reviews, and it has significantly outperformed Elkjøp’s American supplier in terms of customer engagement. Despite its promise, Frettem initially faced challenges in making his venture commercially viable. His fortunes turned when a former colleague joined him on a commission-only basis, and a well-known figure in the e-commerce industry invested in LipScore. Since then, the company has expanded its customer base, entered international markets, and set a target of achieving a turnover of 50 million kroner in Europe within the next three years. LipScore has also rolled out an SMS-based feedback service to cater to physical stores.
